Culture Helping Culture is a project initiated by the Kulturrat NRW and funded by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of NRW that supports artists who have fled due to the Russian war against Ukraine to establish initial professional contacts in the state’s cultural landscape.

This page provides an overview of information for artists and cultural professionals. In addition to calls for proposals, programs, initiatives and projects, the information library containes links to general contact points that offer support to individuals upon their arrival in NRW and Germany.

Under Offers & Requests, artists and cultural professionals could place advertisements in German and English to draw attention to their work and projects. This subpage supported the exchange and establishment of new contacts between local artists and cultural creators and those who have fled to NRW.

Partnerships
Partnerships

The partnership program aimed to establish networks between artists and cultural professionals based in NRW with artists and cultural professionals who have fled to NRW. The formation of individual partnerships made initial professional contacts in the local cultural landscape possible.

„Wir wollen Geflüchteten aus dem Kulturbereich einen Weg öffnen, um mit Kulturschaffenden und künstlerischen Einrichtungen in Kontakt zu treten. Wir wollen die Kunstlandschaft NRW für sie öffnen. Wir wollen künstlerische Aktivitäten mit ihnen realisieren und Beschäftigungsmöglichkeiten schaffen. Wir begrüßen es sehr, dass das Land das Projekt mitträgt und erste Finanzierungen zugesagt hat.“

We want to open a way for refugees from the cultural sector to get in touch with creatives as well as artistic institutions. We want to open up the cultural landscape of NRW for them. We want to realize artistic projects with them and create employment opportunities. We very much welcome the fact that the state is supporting the project and has promised initial funding.
